This Privacy Policy explains how Backup-VM to Google Drive accesses, uses, stores and protects information when using the Google Drive API.
Backup-VM to Google Drive is a private server-backup application operated for cPanel/WHM server backup, disaster recovery and backup retention purposes. It is not offered as a public consumer service and does not provide public user registration.
Backup-VM to Google Drive uses Google OAuth 2.0 and the Google Drive API.
The application uses the following Google Drive OAuth scope:

This scope allows Backup-VM to Google Drive to create, view, modify and delete Google Drive files and folders created or authorised for use by this application. It does not provide the application with unrestricted access to unrelated files elsewhere in the user's Google Drive.
Although this permission technically provides access to files within the authorised Google Drive account, Backup-VM to Google Drive uses this access only for legitimate server-backup functions, including:

Google Drive information accessed by the application is not used for advertising, behavioural profiling, marketing or unrelated commercial purposes.
Backup-VM to Google Drive transfers backup archives created by our cPanel/WHM servers to an authorised Google Drive account.
These backups may contain website files, databases, email data, account configuration files and other server data included within standard cPanel/WHM backups.
The backup data originates from systems administered by us and is transferred to Google Drive for secure backup and disaster-recovery purposes.
The application uses Google OAuth 2.0 authentication to connect to Google Drive.
OAuth access and refresh tokens required for automated backup operations are stored on the authorised Backup-VM server and are accessible only to authorised administrators and system processes.
Google account passwords are not stored by Backup-VM to Google Drive.
Information received through Google APIs is used only to perform the functions necessary to operate the backup system.
Google user data is not:
Google user data accessed through Backup-VM to Google Drive is not shared with advertisers or data brokers.
Access is restricted to authorised administrators, authorised systems and service providers required to operate the backup infrastructure.
Information may be disclosed where required by law or where necessary to protect systems, users or legal rights.
Backup archives are stored within the authorised Google Drive account.
Temporary or source copies may also be retained on privately operated backup infrastructure while required for normal backup operations.
OAuth credentials used by the application are stored on the authorised Backup-VM system and are not intentionally made publicly available.
Backup files are retained according to our configured backup-retention policy.
Older backup generations may be automatically removed from Google Drive when they fall outside the configured retention period.
Backup retention may include daily, weekly and monthly restore points. Retention settings may be adjusted as operational requirements change.
Data may also be deleted manually by an authorised administrator when it is no longer required.
Access granted to Backup-VM to Google Drive can be revoked at any time through the security and third-party access settings of the associated Google Account.
Revoking access prevents the application from performing further authenticated Google Drive operations until authorisation is granted again.
Reasonable technical and administrative measures are used to protect backup information and Google authentication credentials.

Backup-VM to Google Drive's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy , including the Limited Use requirements.
Information obtained through Google APIs is used only for the functionality described in this Privacy Policy.
Google user data is not used for advertising, retargeting, personalised advertising or determining eligibility for credit, employment, insurance or similar purposes.
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes in the application, backup infrastructure, Google API requirements or applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
The latest version will remain available on this website and the "Last updated" date will be amended when material changes are made.
